Southern Sinfonia’s Inaugural Concert a Resounding Success

Full-house marks Southern Sinfonia’s relocation to Taunton and residency at The Brewhouse.

Virtuoso, Sir Roger Norrington conducted an inspiring concert to a full-house, to mark Southern Sinfonia’s relocation to Taunton and residency at The Brewhouse.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly Jennifer Pike’s rendition of Vaughan Williams’ the Lark Ascending which the duo plan to record in 2016.  The evening was attended by The Worshipful Mayor of Taunton Deane Councillor Marcia Hill and Leader of TDBC John Williams amongst many classical music appreciators from Somerset and beyond.

Southern Sinfonia’s next concert in March will feature French repertoire with harpist Catrin Finch, with Nigel Kennedy booked to head-line in October 2016.

But first the orchestra will play a Festive Children’s Concert, on the 22 November, featuring the Snowman film with live sound score, Tchaikovsky Nutcracker Suite complete with story-telling and much more.
