Jack Coulthard – A Tribute to the Anderson Family

The Brewhouse has a very exciting and influential new exhibition lined up for its Gallery space from early January featuring paintings by Jack Coulthard.

The world-class artist Jack Coulthard has painted near Taunton for more than 40 years.

Now in his eighties, Jack has always worked outside fashionable artistic styles. All kinds of preoccupations and fascinations have influenced his life’s work and his paintings are filled with cultural, philosophical and historical references. They are colourful, highly detailed, down-to-earth, sometimes controversial, sometimes disturbing, sometimes poignant … and often delightfully humorous!

“The pictures are in praise of human beings, specifically in praise of something we call IMAGINATION”
Jack Coulthard

His works are very popular and loved by people of all ages. They are sought-after by collectors throughout the world including a galaxy of celebrities, among them Arnold Schwarzenegger and Topol. Jack continues to refine and extend what he believes to be a common language.

To coincide with this exhibition, we will celebrate the launch of his “Cold Mountain Colouring Book”.  Copies of which will be on sale throughout.

There will also be a talk by Jack on the 30th January at 3pm.  It is a free event but places are limited and booking is highly recommended (via the website or from box office during opening hours).
