The annual Foot Anstey Charity quiz has raised over £3,900 to support the renovation campaign for the Brewhouse.

Now in its tenth year, over 20 teams from across the region were put to the test with Cooper Associates Ltd emerging as the overall winners of the prestigious trophy.  Held at the Somerset Cricket Club, attendees from accountants, banks and barristers networked and played with good competitive spirit.  As part of fundraising, an auction and raffle was held with prizes donated from local businesses such as The Cleve hotel and spa, Frenkel Topping, Hestercombe House, Milky Way Adventure Park and Avon Valley Railway.

Vanessa Lefrancois, Chief Executive of the Brewhouse said “It’s wonderful to see so many local businesses supporting the work of The Brewhouse.  People are most familiar with our performance programme which is attracting some big names like Michael McIntyre, Courtney Pine, Akram Khan and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.  Less known is our cinema programme, art exhibitions and extensive activities programme.  As a local charity we engage with many local community groups and schools, including work with vulnerable young people and those with disabilities. We’ve achieved so much since reopening the venue in 2014, but we know we can offer so much more in the future within a reimagined arts centre. Working with local businesses to realise our aspirations, we will develop the arts, educational and cultural offer in Taunton, to enhance the lives of those living, studying and working in the region.”

Foot Anstey Office Partner Duncan Sykes added: “It was great to see so many people from the business community come together, have fun, and raise a considerable amount for a charity that is providing much needed support.  I’d like to thank all of the entrants, volunteers and Somerset Country Cricket Club for making the quiz a tremendous success.”

The annual quiz has now generated nearly £30,000 for local causes, with previous beneficiaries including Brainwave, Conquest Equestrian Centre, Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, Headway Somerset and St Margaret’s Hospice.
