Help us decorate our Christmas gallery with miniature Dickensian houses in this free family workshop. This is a drop-in day and we expect the activity to take anytime between 20 minutes to 1 hour (depending on how creative you feel). We do recommend you book a place to guarantee a spot but it is not essential and you can turn up between 10.30am – 3.30pm.

Joining the Brewhouse dance company will give you the opportunity to work with visiting professional dance companies and work towards performances on the main stage. Have a MAD time at our Hatters workshop. Come and make a mad hat! Using an Alice band as the base you can create your own funny headpiece ready to wear to the ballet. A fun workshop for children aged 7+ in the creative hub.
Please note there is a combined ticket offer for the workshop and the Royal Opera House Screening of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’.

For our 40th-year sculptor James Lake has created an apple tree in our gallery! At this free workshop you can add your contribution to the exhibition in the form of an apple or lantern. The installation will transform with the seasons and lanterns will be saved for the change into winter.

Create animations with illustrator Leo Hartas. Led by Spaeda, this event will be a fun day where you can have a go at making flip books, stop motion, claymation and 2D frame-by-frame techniques. Leo will be on hand to help with ideas, fun tips and tricks and technical things for you to learn how to bring your drawings and models to life.

Choose one of 12 Christmas themed projects to create in this day workshop with Pam Martin of Somerset Stitch. Beginner or experienced stitchers both welcome to join us.

ACTIVITY: By popular demand the Brewhouse will now be running pottery classes with local ceramicist Jo Dove. Classes will happen in the art studio at the theatre and Jo will be offering glazing and firing of finished work back at her studio in Wiveliscombe, with collection from the Brewhouse afterwards.

A festive evening of making and crafting at the Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre. Learn a new skill and produce your own handmade gifts this year to surprise your friends and family.

An alternative wassail for the good harvest of creative endeavours in 2018 at the Brewhouse. This event will take place around James Lake’s tree sculpture in the gallery with singing, music and cider. This is a family friendly event and children can join in with our wassailing ceremony as we decorate our tree with fabulous colours and wish for an artistically fruitful New Year.

This free event will be open during our Box Office hours. It may be closed during performances.
