Join our Play & Music classes led by Claudia Edwards of Gymboree Play & Music Taunton.  This regular session is for babies and toddlers under 24 months.  Gymboree’s expertise in baby development spans several decades and our classes are designed to introduce babies to instruments, songs, sounds and play.   Our Play & Music classes use song, movement, puppets, fibre optics, bubbles and other fun props.  Come along to meet other parents, grandparents and carers.

This class is suitable for dancers at any level that will allow you more individual time with our ballet tutor, Duncan Hulme. Perhaps you need help moving between our beginners class into the elementary level or would like some help with the beginners’ exercises to help you feel more confident when starting out. A friendly group, with six students at the most.

A creative dance class for young people who love to dance. Improve your dance skills in contemporary dance, parkour, street and ballet. Joining the Brewhouse dance company will give you the opportunity to work with visiting professional dance companies and work towards performances on the main stage. Together we will choreograph and create our own new pieces. No prior dance experience is needed, this is an unauditioned class and everyone is welcome.

Using the Barry Cawston exhibit as a starting point, Freeny Yianni Hammick, the exhibition’s curator, will lead the discussion. Join us for creative dialogue with the context of the exhibition as a basis for discussion.

We will be looking at elements such as colour, tone and composition to help each individual student progress their own work and find their own style. Students should bring their own paints and canvas/paper. Bring along your own easel if you wish. Students are encouraged to bring some examples of their previous work to the first session.

The Brewhouse Theatre youth advisory group meet monthly on Thursday’s from 6pm – 7pm. It’s a new group set up to make suggestions for future programming, promote new youth activities and to watch and review shows together. It’s your chance to become more involved in the running and behind the scenes action in the programming office at the theatre.

Come and join this full day tutored session with artist, Joanna Commings to draw or paint a clothed model. This is a relaxed day in the studio with a professional model for anyone who would like to improve their portrait skills.

Drawing the whole picture – Artist Andrea Oke will encourage families to work together to create a large-scale collaborative artwork that illustrates a story created during the session. Using a series of prompts and games Andrea will guide the group to discover their inner storyteller.

An untutored day in the studio with an experienced and professional model. Artists of all levels are welcome to join the session, however please remember there won’t be instruction – this is a session for people to come along and enjoy working on their own pieces in a social setting.

Using only wool and silk fibres, soap and water, learn to make a small felted panel or picture.
This class allows you to indulge in creating your own felted artwork using the techniques Jill Denton has developed in her own work over many years of feltmaking. You could make a small panel using a variety of wool fibres and incorporating other fabrics, yarns and fibres.

An exciting opportunity to work with a leading South West sculptor who uses cardboard as his main medium. The skills you learn in this workshop can easily be continued at home on your own projects.

Have a MAD time at our Hatters workshop. Come and make a mad hat! Using an Alice band as the base you can create your own funny headpiece ready to wear to the ballet. A fun workshop for children aged 7+ in the creative hub.
Please note there is a combined ticket offer for the workshop and the Royal Opera House Screening of ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’.

For our 40th-year sculptor James Lake has created an apple tree in our gallery! At this free workshop you can add your contribution to the exhibition in the form of an apple or lantern. The installation will transform with the seasons and lanterns will be saved for the change into winter.

Create animations with illustrator Leo Hartas. Led by Spaeda, this event will be a fun day where you can have a go at making flip books, stop motion, claymation and 2D frame-by-frame techniques. Leo will be on hand to help with ideas, fun tips and tricks and technical things for you to learn how to bring your drawings and models to life.
