JOB TITLE:  CREATIVE ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

LOCATION: Taunton, Somerset  

CONTRACT: Full Time (35 hours per week)

SALARY: £26K

REPORTS TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE 


We seek a Creative Engagement Manager to join our small, busy team and lead on development and delivery of programmes and activities for Schools, Young People, Families, and courses for Adults.

The programme aims to empower young people and enrich communities of Taunton with creative experiences and meaningful participation in arts and culture. It includes

  • Take Part programme, Youth Theatre and Young Company, Youth Board, and workshops for early years children, their parents and carers
  • Courses for Adults – community choir, dance, visual arts, and contemporary making – the latter could develop and grow substantially
  • Meaningful engagement with schools, impacting on lives of our young people in education settings.

With responsibility for devising the programme of activity, working with delivery artists, and in partnership with other organisations in Taunton and Somerset to increase our reach and engagement, you will also evaluate the experience of participants to measure impact and improve our offers.

We aim to create programmes that are artistically authentic, accessible, and inclusive of everyone. At this challenging, exciting time, we aim to recover, refocus and regenerate following the impact of the pandemic. With the arrival of Amy Bere as Chief Executive, we seek to position The Brewhouse as a hub of creativity and bold artistic vision in the heart of Somerset.

With a riverside location in the centre of Somerset’s County, newly designated, Garden Town, The Brewhouse dates from 1977 and includes 352-seat auditorium, studio, rehearsal, exhibition and meeting/workshop spaces. Taunton Theatre Association, a registered charity, has been Operator since 2014.
