The Brewhouse is casting for young people (aged between 9 – 24 years) to take part in our professional Christmas production of The Railway Children. We are casting for small named parts and the ensemble. The main characters will be played by professional actors. We plan to cast approximately 26 young performers, who will form two casts.
Performers need to be strong, confident singers and actors, with good dance ability. Successful candidates will be in scenes throughout the show and play several different characters. There will be speaking parts for some young performers and all children will need to be able to hold a vocal harmony line musically. We are looking for natural young performers. We encourage young people with a flare and passion for performing to audition, regardless of whether they have had any formal training or not.
The auditions will be held at The Brewhouse on:
- Friday 10 May
- Saturday 11 May, and
- Sunday 12 May 2019.
You will be allocated a 1 1/2 hour audition and invited 15 minutes before the audition start time in order to register. Sunday will mainly be reserved for call back auditions for some auditionees that the Director would like to see again alongside other potential cast members. Some auditionees may not be called back but may still get a part; some might be called back and yet not receive a part.
To participate you must be available to rehearse at weekends from the end of September and throughout the October school half-term (28 October – 3 November) during the day. If you are away during October, half term please do not request an audition as this is an important rehearsal time and we will not select people who are unavailable. Performances will take place throughout December (starting from 9th December), there will be daytime and evening performances. The ensemble will be double cast so casts will perform in alternate shows.
To register for an audition please fill in this form via this link by Thursday 2 May at 5 pm.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept registrations that are not in this format or submitted after this deadline.
