From acclaimed director of ‘The Witch’ comes this uproarious horror drama about sanity, isolation and seclusion.

It’s the 1890s. Two lighthouse keepers (Robert Pattinson, Willem Dafoe) try to maintain their sanity whilst entrapped on a remote and mysterious New England island, with only each other and their bad humour for company.  This paves the way for a prolonged period of feral hunger; excruciating agony; manic isolation, and horrible booze-addled visions. Now, the eerie stranglehold of insanity tightens. Is there an escape from the wall-less prison of the mind?

Director Robert Eggers creates an eerie reality which slowly unravels and distorts with each passing minute.

“A claustrophobic horror filled with sweaty desire, sickly jealousy, and unbridled rage.” (The Independent)

“A deeply unsettling second feature from horror director Robert Eggers, this black-and-white period piece about isolation is intense and constricting.” (Common Sense Media)
