This class will run as part of our Online programme until May half term. The Brewhouse will reopen by June, and this class will resume in-venue for the second half term. An online option will still be offered with limited spaces. Booking is open now.

Taunton Tones are a community based mixed adult A Capella group, with an eclectic repertoire and a wide range of age and abilities. We sing the same songs as Friday’s Community Choir at The Brewhouse, so feel free to come on either day. This morning session may be best for those who are new.

We perform for local venues and events – any money raised, goes back into the community through local charities.

Singing a wide variety of musical genres including classical, traditional folk, musical theatre, jazz, pop and gospel.

No need to read music and no auditions! New members are always welcome.

The choir will be led by Joanna until mid-May, after which point it will be led by Sasha.

Joanna Hadden is an experienced musician and teacher. Outside of performing herself, she teaches singing, flute, piccolo, recorder, piano and beginner clarinet. She is an experienced Musical Director of adult and children’s choirs across the South East and South West UK and is really enjoying shaping the Community Choir at The Brewhouse.

Sasha Herriman is a professional singer and music educator. She’s the Artistic Director of The Bluebirds Theatre Company which specialises in professional music and theatre in a community setting. Sasha teaches singing in the community and in Somerset schools right from total beginners to those wanting to make singing their career. She’s taught a variety of other instruments for Somerset Music and Taunton Music. Sasha has a former on-screen career in television with CNN, ITV and other national broadcasters.

Please note that all Take Part sessions are now online until June. You will receive a link to access your online class in the booking confirmation email. Please keep this safe! Sessions from June onwards will continue to come with a Zoom link, but only participants who have booked an Online ticket will be admitted to the video call.
