Priestley’s classic matrimonial comedy is a hearty tale of marital mishap and scandal, starting with three couples who are gathering to celebrate their silver weddings.
Twenty five years ago, the Helliwells, the Parkers and the Soppitts were married on the same day by the same parson. But when these pillars of society discover that the parson was not authorised to marry them, they realise that they have been “living in sin” for twenty-five years.
Then as you might expect, social embarrassment and pandemonium break out.
