MAIN STAGE ACTS

Huw Eddy & The Carnival 5.30pm(approx. 60 min set)
Igniting in the southwest of England and acquiring four rowdy, loud mouth northerners on the way, ‘Huw Eddy & The Carnival’ was born in Leeds. Pedalling sound waves with a core of Indie Folk, yet lashings of Rock and Roll and Americana influences, finished off with the soulful and uncompromisingly powerful voice of Huw Eddy. They bring you a non-stop electric show that forces you to throw down your drink and just dance. Delivering songs and vocal melodies that will tug at your heartstrings, as well as have you chucking your hands in the air through pure uninterrupted revelry.

With highlights such as FIMU festival Belfort, two successful UK and Europe tours, international airplay in the US and Europe and BBC Scotland’s track of the week with their single ‘Fading’ – Huw and his Carnival are relentlessly building momentum and now they are announcing the arrival of their pulsating parade to the masses.

Sound of the Sirens 7.30pm(approx. 60 min set)
Exeter-based Abbe Martin and Hannah Wood are Sound of the Sirens – a foot-stomping, crowd-engaging female folk/rock duo. These girls know how to rock a stage, and make you believe in every word they sing. Individually, their voices tell their own tale but when blended together their harmonies leave the listener wanting more, compelled by its magic. They’re witty and sincere, and it’s this very quality of down-to-earth engagement and communication during performance’s, that has seen their popularity rise substantially over the last few years.

The ‘Sirens’ played to a sold-out crowd at The Brewhouse in early 2017 and we are thrilled to be able to welcome them back as part of this very special evening….

Duke Special 9.30pm(approx. 60 min set)
Duke Special (aka Peter Wilson) is a singer, songwriter and pianist from Belfast. Known and loved for his theatrical live performances and sweetly melancholy sound, he was nominated for three Meteor awards in 2007, winning Best Irish Male in 2008. He has maintained a fiercely independent attitude towards his music-making since his first album ‘Adventures in Gramophone’ (2005), successfully funding two of his many releases through crowdfunding.

As well as releasing distinctive material under his own name, he has produced music for a production of Bertolt Brecht’s ‘Mother Courage and Her Children’, and has been involved in various crossover projects, including a collection of songs based on the photographs of Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Steichen and Paul Strand at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2011.
