Inspired by true events, Benedict Andrews’ noir-ish thriller follows French New Wave actress and ‘Breathless’ star, Jean Seberg, in the late 1960s.
Due to her support of the civil rights movement and her romantic involvement with Hakim Jamal – a Black Panther activist – Seberg becomes the target of the FBI. She soon finds her life and career in jeopardy as Hoover’s overreaching surveillance and harassment reach a boiling point and takes a toll on everything she holds dear, all in an effort to suppress and discredit Seberg’s activism.

“This portrait of a woman pushed to breaking point coheres around a fine, friable performance from Kristen Stewart.” – The Observer
