This exhibition makes up part of Nikki Taylor & Fiona Bradford’s Urban Outings Project.

Beginning in February 2017, this collaborative research project between artists Nikki and Fiona evolved from the act of walking through and along the edges of ‘the urban’ (usually at night).

On night time walks
“We have a ‘negotiated rudder’ that steers us this way or that but these walks are not goal orientated. We have no agenda so that as we drift along, the motion takes on meanings and a life of its own.”

On collaboration
“There is a universal appeal and application in walking without purpose. The strangeness of the activity brings about a unity; encourages curiosity and disclosure and observations that are otherwise elusive when moving with an agenda.”

🎨 EXPLORE OUR ART WORKSHOPS & CLASSES 🎨

Own Art is a national initiative that makes buying contemporary art and craft affordable by providing interest-free loans for the purchase of original work. Own Art reduces the financial barriers and perceptions of elitism that commonly exist within the art market, by making it easier and more affordable for people to access art, regardless of their income and socio-economic background. Click the image above for a link to find out more.
The Brewhouse is part of the Own Art initiative which means that any art available for sale in this exhibition may make use of the interest free loans. What’s more, we take care of all the paperwork and application process for you – you just need to let our Box Office team know which piece you would like to buy.
