We’re excited to bring you our regular Take Part sessions online, giving you instant access to professional tutors and facilitators from in and around Somerset.

Join us for our Spring term of Mixed Media Art & Craft, hosted by Claire.

In line with Government guidance on COVID-19, we’re continuing these sessions online, so you can maintain your creative practice while at home. We can’t wait to welcome you back on-site and will update you as soon as guidance changes.

These classes will continue with ‘pay what you can’ pricing, which allows you to pick a price option that you’re comfortable with to suit your means. Your support allows us to keep bringing great arts and culture to Taunton.

A fantastically creative course which combines the chance to make art using a variety of materials and techniques and the opportunity to cross over into craft and design, using both traditional and new methods. No previous experience is necessary, the only limit is your imagination!

Your weekly opportunity to experiment and ‘have a go’ in a friendly and supportive art group. You will finish each class buzzing with new ideas and full of enthusiasm for your next project.

“I’ve learnt more in the first 10 minutes of this class than I have ever done, it’s great to be shown a variety of techniques that I can use again at home” – class attendee

Please make sure that you have a basic set of art materials for every session, and a space to get creative in at home.

A watercolour pad
A set of paints (watercolour, acrylic or gouache) and brushes (a fine brush and a wash brush)
A drawing pencil (in the ‘B’ range)
A sketching pen
Students may also like to consider bringing pastels, inks and coloured/watercolour pencils.

The workshop leader Claire Jeanes has a BA(hons) in Graphic Design, with a specialism in illustration. She is also a qualified teacher so will be able to give you lots of suggestions and helpful guidance.
