Thrilling, audacious, witty and emotional, Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake is perhaps still best known for replacing the female corps-de-ballet with a menacing male ensemble, which shattered conventions, turned tradition upside down and took the dance world by storm.
Collecting over thirty international theatre awards including an Olivier in the UK and three Tonys on Broadway, Matthew Bourne’s powerful interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s beloved tale is a passionate and contemporary Swan Lake for our times.
The Brewhouse are thrilled to be offering children and young people the chance to work with two New Adventures’ Dance Artists and learn about this exciting style of contemporary dance/theatre. You can join the morning or afternoon group – depending on your age – to explore themes from Swan Lake and the creative process.
The week will finish with an on stage informal sharing of your work to parents and guardians.
These classes cater for boys and girls. All genders welcome and no experience necessary.

“In the workshop, we danced around just like a swan. I couldn’t believe how the ballet dancers, all male, could jump up and down like they were on a trampoline. I will never forget this amazing experience.”
– William (age 9)
