Learn how to marble fabric using shaving foam and make a beautiful concertina photo album.
In this creative whole day workshop, designer and bookbinder Esther Williams will take you through how to hand marble a the book cloth using Indian inks and – that’s right – shaving foam! You’ll create beautiful hard-back covers with ribbon ties and learn the simple and effective method of concertina paper folding – perfect for photo albums, guest books and more.
There’s no sewing for this method which means you can craft a stunning hand printed, cloth-covered book in one day.
This workshop covers three new skills and anyone who attended the Coptic binding workshop in Autumn last year will learn new bookbinding methods to add to their repertoire!
There will be a lunch break in the middle of the day with time to go out to a nearby cafe or please feel bring along a packed lunch to eat in the Brewhouse. Tea and coffee will be supplied at the start of the day.
