Jean Hobbs is well known as an artist in the West Country. She has exhibited widely, including the Royal Academy, the Royal West of England Academy, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Museum of Cardiff. She has a long association with the Brewhouse Theatre, being involved from the very beginning.
She has exhibited her work at the Brewhouse over many years both in one-man shows and with the Somerset Society of Artists. She also taught art classes on site over a long period.
This exhibition brings together images depicting landscapes, gardens and the people of Somerset. It includes watercolours, oil paintings and prints. Jean’s primary motivation is colour. On show are some of her most vibrant works.
Jean’s painting has been curtailed due to loss of vision. A percentage of the sales will go to the local charity Somerset Sight.
