With support from Arts Council England, we’re keeping audiences and artists healthy, happy and creative during lockdown with this exciting new project.
HomeBrew gives you the chance to ‘Take Part Online’, produce new and original artwork for display in a virtual Community Gallery, and experience innovative ‘digital art’ by Somerset artists through our HomeBrew Commissions.
These projects allow us to continue our conversation with local audiences, providing valuable resources to help support Somerset’s health and wellbeing at such a crucial time. HomeBrew aims to build new connections across our local community and beyond, combating loneliness and providing ways to stay fit, keep you creative and provide some mental stimulation to keep your grey matter healthy and happy.
What follows is a brief overview of the three different strands of the HomeBrew project. You can find more information about each of these by exploring their dedicated pages.
We will be awarding five commissions to Somerset-based artists to create new artistic pieces that are proudly, inherently digital. Podcasts, videos, VR, web projects, static pieces or something nobody’s thought of before. We want to see what artists can make for audiences if the idea of a physical stage is removed altogether.
