Following on from October’s Hate Crime Awareness Week, the Brewhouse will be the venue for two workshops focusing on Hate Crime.

These evenings coincide with the newly installed ANNE FRANK + YOU exhibition.  The workshops are free to attend and will run at the theatre on the 22nd and 27th October between 7pm – 9pm.

PC Rob Brown from Avon and Somerset Constabulary will explain different forms of hate crime and how they are dealt with by the police. He will describe how our local force is tacking this  crime and answer questions from the audience.

Leonard Daniels Chairman, Somerset Anne Frank Awards will present a talk “The Pathology of Hate Crime” which explores how hate can arise within society and, if left unchecked, how it develops dangerous mutations and require complex cures.

On Monday 22nd October, guest speaker Paul Heim will join the other speakers to share his extraordinary personal experience of the impact of hate, describing his first-hand account of his Jewish family’s escape from Vienna in 1938.

Talks are free to attend and tickets are not required.  For more information you can contact the event organisers by clicking HERE
