The Gamelan is a traditional Indonesian orchestra comprising metallophones, gongs and bells. Every village in Indonesia has at least one to use during celebrations, rituals, concerts and performance for tourists. In this workshop you will learn how to play together using the Javanese Gamelan under the expert tuition of Actiontrack’s musicians. A unique experience!

This activity is suitable for children aged 7+ but best suited to older young people, younger siblings are welcome to come along but we suggest a minimum ratio of one adult to 3 children. No unaccompanied under 18’s please, parents and carers of older young people can watch the workshop from the auditorium seats. This is a fun session exploring the Gamelan with Actiontrack as part of the Tyca Festival at The Brewhouse.

Workshops are at 10.30am, 12.45pm and 2.30pm
It is free to attend but we strongly advise booking your tickets to this activity in advance, as places are limited and arriving on the day may result in disappointment. Booking in advance also helps our workshop leaders to prepare your session and plan for any additional access needs you may have ahead of time.
