A squawking adventure for young children, bursting with live music and audience participation. Step inside the nest and join the daily life of a unique bird family, as a frantic and funny young chick shares songs with his fine-singing father and grows towards independence.
This squawking adventure for young children is bursting with live music and audience participation, where everyone can learn birdsongs and get ready to take flight for the first time!
Flit, Flap, Fly is entirely non-verbal, encouraging children learn to interpret vocal sounds and physical cues. This not only offers a chance to experience how birds communicate, but also helps build interpersonal skills amongst the young audience as they learn to read body language and intonation.
Aimed at 2-7 year olds but suitable for all.
Note: One accompanying adult can attend without additional charge. This performance takes place in the intimate surroundings of the Studio Theatre.
Teacher comments from schools tour:
‘The children showed a very high level of engagement in the show and were completely mesmerised in the world.’
‘We were moved by the participation of the children and response the performers gave to the children’s comments and actions, weaving them into the story.’
‘The children have been full of talk about the show and speculating about the nature of the birds. Our children with English as an additional language particularly enjoyed the show.’
