This workshop will provide the opportunity for participants to respond to Black History Month and the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement by helping to create part of a large banner.

The banner will initially be on display at The Brewhouse, before being moved in the town centre next summer, joining a hundred more hand-painted banners for Taunton Live & Taunton Pride.

Participants are encouraged to look closely at the responses captured in the BLM canvases included in GoCreate’s Art in Isolation Exhibition, currently on display at The Brewhouse. Participants are also encouraged to visit (online if preferred) other exhibitions around Taunton linked to Black History Month prior to joining the workshop session.

During this workshop materials will be provided, including individual canvases for personal responses and a large banner to create a collaborative community response to the Black Lives Matter movement.

There are three workshop sessions available to choose from: 10AM, 11:45AM, 1:30PM

Ticket prices start at just £2 and are ‘pay what you can’ to accommodate means.
