CINEMA: Colette
It is 20th Century Paris, and Colette (Keira Knightely) is newly married to her husband ‘Willy’ (Dominic West).
Quickly recognising his wife’s potential, Willy charms Colette into ghost-writing popular novels, whilst he reaps the rewards.
The marriage deteriorates into a battle of wills, as Colette becomes both liberated and enslaved. The couple enter into a volatile relationship of sexual desire, control and exploitation. Willy will stop at nothing for the life he feels he deserves, but neither will Colette.
“An engaging literary coming-of-age story”
