Join us to help make the Brewhouse 40th Birthday bunting! A cosy session in the creative hub with artist Bridget Arnold. Use bright and colourful fabric to sew together a bespoke flag to hang in our chain. It’s your opportunity to leave a mark for the next 40 years of Brewhouse celebrations. Our bunting will grow over the year and become a special symbol at all future family events in and outside the building. Displayed for the first time at our 40th Birthday Party on 17 June as part of Somerfest.

Sessions are 1.5 hours and for small groups. Please note: All children must be accompanied by an adult and all participants require a ticket so we can ensure you all have access to a sewing machine. The activity is not suitable for children under the age of 8. Ratio of 2 children per adult is a minimum due to the nature of the activity.

Workshop day with sessions at :
• 10.30am – 12pm
• 12.30 – 2pm
• 2.15pm – 3.45pm

Drop in anytime between: 11am – 3.30pm

Come along to share your memories of Taunton, the arts experiences you have had in the town – in the past, more recently and what you want for the future …and what role the Brewhouse has and can play.  Come and share your stories with ArtsTaunton artists in residence Michelle Rumney and Christopher Jelley.  After you have had a chat, make a piece of bunting and share your story with us over a cup of tea. We would love to meet everyone with a tale to tell about Taunton!  This is a drop-in event, all ages are welcome.  We would particularly like to meet families with several generations represented.

All the stories collected will be stored in the new Brewhouse archive at South West Heritage Trust records office in Taunton, ready for future generations to enjoy and everything you say will feed into a Cultural Plan for Taunton!

This story cafe has been commissioned by ArtsTaunton.
