Writer/director Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Hunt For The Wilderpeople), brings his signature style of humour and pathos to this World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy named Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis.

When he discovers his single mother (Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic, his whole world view is turned upside down. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.

Did you know? Mel Brooks, the creator of The Producers (1967), praised the film in his speech at the AFI awards: “I just saw Jojo Rabbit, and it’s really a terrific and eloquent and beautiful picture.”

“Taika Waititi’s film is tender, daring, and sharp – precisely pitched so that it keeps its path steady and its ambitions in check. It makes buffoons out of the fascists while lamenting how easily their beliefs can corrupt a nation” – Clarisse Loughrey, The Independent

“In this bravely brazen ‘anti-hate satire’ a Führer with halitosis and a misguidedly fervent member of the Hitler Youth provide an outlet to poke fun at prejudice and cherish innocence” – Ella Kemp, Sight & Sound
