An untutored day in the studio with an experienced and professional model. Artists of all levels are welcome to join the session, however please remember there won’t be instruction – this is a session for people to come along and enjoy working on their own pieces in a social setting.
The start of the session will be facilitated by Dion who will help you to decide on a pose for the day collectively.
Please bring along your own materials and an easel if you wish. The room will be arranged with chairs and tables. Places are limited so please book in advance.
Tea and coffee included.
Somerset based Joanna Commings is an Associate of The South West Academy. She was born in London and started drawing and painting from an early age, inspired by her father who was an artist. “Initially my main interest was in portraiture for which I still take commissions on a sale or return basis,” she explains. “But when I moved to Cornwall over a decade ago the wild and beautiful scenery here influenced me to turn to landscape painting. This has now become my major passion.” Joanna works mainly in acrylics, which she loves “for their versatility and flexibility” on handmade watercolour papers, canvas or board.
