CHARITY MUSIC GALA: A fabulous evening of live music, entertainment and exclusive raffle prizes raising money for The Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital. Supporting the hospital’s invaluable work, this fundraising evening will help world-class treatment reach all those who need it and is being hosted in memory of Philip Knighton, and the delight he took in all things musical.
With an eclectic mix of jazz, classical and acoustic music (and some panto thrown in too), this promises to be a very special evening packed full of great entertainment. Some fantastic raffle prizes are to be on offer and the ‘Taunton Ukulele Strummers Club’ look forward to greeting you on arrival and keeping your toes tapping during the interval.
Confirmed Acts include ‘Andy Leggett’, ‘The Amici Choir’, ‘The Tone Valley Jazz Band’, ‘The Silver Street Band’, ‘Jules Bushell’, ‘Fodo Higginson’, ‘Wellington Operatic Society’ and more! Please do join us on this very special night in raising the roof for this brilliantly entertaining charity concert alongside the very many friends and family of Philip Knighton.
Philip took great pleasure in bringing a wide variety of music and entertainment to people through the local radio, committing years to supporting Somerset’s community radio stations. Affectionately known by many as “The Gramophone man”, he was known by many for his dedicated work at Apple FM within Musgrove and 10 Radio in Wiveliscombe. He passed away in February 2016 and is much missed by all.
Through the hospital’s charity, “Love Musgrove”, we will, with your help, be supporting The Beacon Centre and Ward 9, who cared for Philip throughout his illness.
