Studio Shakespeare: The Two Gentlemen Of Verona
Black Chair Productions
Friday 20 April 2012 - Saturday 21 April 2012
2pm 7pm
One of Shakespeare’s earliest romantic comedies, in the central love triangle of the play one gentleman is betrayed by his best friend.
The point about "Sawn-off Shakespeare" as Black Chair call it, is that it retains the plot of the story "the trunk" but dispenses with many of the uninteresting and cumbersome "branches". This also reduces the number of cast members which, in turn, helps to condense the plot to a more acceptable level for modern audiences.
