Dreams & Aspirations of Young People Come to The Brewhouse

Dreams & Aspirations exhibit piece

Unique exhibition has been created by young people who currently live in Foster care in Somerset.

The Brewhouse were delighted to welcome a new exhibition this May. Entitled “Dreams & Aspirations” this unique exhibition has been created by young people who currently live in Foster care in Somerset.

It coincided with the launch of Somerset County Councils Foster care fortnight and is one of a number of special events to help raise the profile of fostering in Somerset, and encourage people to think about fostering themselves.

The children and young people created their art across two days at Bridgwater’s Rollercoaster youth centre, working with a tireless team of enthusiastic volunteers from across the County.

Each of the children and young people’s individual art projects captures their hopes and aspirations for the future, or the stuff of dreams; things that matter most to them or excite, interest and energise them. Their pieces come together in a bright mishmash of styles, spanning abstract dreamscapes, Marvel-style costumes, bold colour and character, photography, splashes of paint, and streams of textiles.

It even features a giant willow dream-catcher that all the children combined their skills to create.

The event is free and open to the public during the Theatres opening hours (10-4 Mon-Fri and midday-4pm on Sat).

It will run until 5 Jun.
