As the first signs of the season lure us to believe that we may be in for a lovely warm hot summer, we start to make plans to while away those lovely long evenings. We ask what better way to spend them than in the beautiful Vivary Park over a delicious picnic, watching Shakespeare’s Globe perform The Comedy Of Errors (6 – 10 July)? This is just one of the many outdoor events programmed by The Brewhouse this summer, as the return of Westival, Taunton’s festival of live music, visual art, comedy, workshops, Shakespeare and street theatre takes place inside and outside The Brewhouse over the weekend of Friday 23 – Sunday 25 July. The predominantly free of charge arts fest kicks off at 5pm on the Friday, just as work finishes for the weekend. Many of you will have noticed the exterior of The Brewhouse has undergone a new lick of paint which enables the Sound Of Silent’s film fest to take place (28 – 30 August) where silent films are projected onto the new outdoor projection screen, accompanied by a live piano score. Because your'e less likely to want to sit inside a theatre auditorium in the hot months of summer, We've decided to take things outside so we can all enjoy the good weather.
