Westival
Join in this eclectic weekend of live music, visual art, comedy, workshops,
Shakespeare and street theatre. Try something new and make your mark. Create
it, perform it, watch it, however you do it – be part of it! The best thing about it
is (other than Simon Callow, The Invisible Show and Tapes + Ashes) it’s all entirely
free and you don’t need to book, just turn up on the day and enjoy it.

Brewhouse Beanies
The Brewhouse Bandstand 10am - 12pm
Get stimulated. Babies, toddlers, parents and carers
engage in creative play to feed your mind and free
your imagination.

listen to Taunton’s jazz legends perform live.

Reveal Media Hub and The Engine Room

Brewhouse Big Screen instead. Over the weekend
there are four opportunities to sample the best
shorts from South West film makers.

Starring one of Britain’s greatest actors, Simon Callow
takes us into the real life of William Shakespeare.
Explore the man behind the greatest literary works of
all time, his influences and inspirations.
Both Shakespeare and his favourite characters are
brought to life as we delve into this eye opening
production where Shakespeare’s real world and his
imagined worlds are combined.
Acoustic Sessions

While away a lazy summer’s evening as you indulge
in some acoustic music. Catch up with your friends
as you enjoy a drink from our Café Bar whilst
accompanied by a relaxed acoustic soundtrack.
Brew Ha Ha! Comedy Club
Café Bar 10pm - 11.30pmLate night comedy, be part of Taunton’s liveliest
comedy crowd. We host a number of live comedy
acts including Del Strain, who promise to make you
laugh until your sides hurt.

Action Track
Studio 10.30am - 12pm, 2pm - 3.30pm, 4.30pm - 6pm
Westival needs you. This is your chance to get
involved. Join the innovative company Actiontrack
and discover your creativity. Bring everything
together for a grand finale flash performance.
In the 10am session get crafty as you help make
The Brewhouse Bunting. The direction of the other
sessions will be a surprise on the day.

Tapes + Ashes

A totally improvised gig in which
Tapes + Ashes, an electro acoustic
trio, blend electronic sounds to
steer their performance along an unpredictable course.
Taking their inspiration from various sources
including musique concrete, systemsminimalism
and post-bop jazz, Tapes + Ashes despite
their electronic sound, have a very organic feel.
