| How comforting to hear Somerset accents on a Somerset stage.
This was a special kind of magic - a play that did not, as soaps do, deny the vital and primal role of nature in us and around us. The set was stunning and the staging, overlapping one scene with the next, was clear and powerful, showing how one moment slips intot he next, expecially in memory. And the water, it seeped ontot he stage, undeniable, like the painful memories of the characters, theri pasts and their living, changing, mysterious environment. What a coup for the Brewhouse - this was an evening to savour. |
