| After a small hitch the show went on, and what a show. An excellent set captured the imagination from the off and any children that were familiar with the story (I’d finished reading it to my youngest only last week) didn’t care that it didn’t stick slavishly to the original. The plot was extended and themes expanded and that gave this well rehearsed and professional cast the opportunity to include and engage with the audience. This show is part panto, part social commentary but a whole lot of fun. On the way home I asked my daughter what she thought was the best bit and 30 minutes later she was still talking. If you haven’t got tickets... get some. My only problem was an inability to organise my life in such a way that I could stay for the normally excellent Monday night comedy in the bar |
