| Well, this was just a delight! My taste usually goes towards the more off-the-wall, but this piece (in which two people play, very convincingly, some 17 characters) tells an increasingly compelling story about what happens when a Hollywood film crew arrive in a rural Irish village. Forget the "oirish" jokes (although you are lulled into Ballykissangel territory from time to time): this is both funny and gritty and extremely EXTREMELY well scripted, directed and performed. Hats off to the two guys who held the stage, and my attention, so completely. It is still on for a couple of nights, hence my taking the trouble to post this. Get a ticket if you still can! |
