| This is by no means the first time that a performance at the Brewhouse has been ruined for me and various friends by the horendous volume of the music. I came with four friends, two of whom left in the interval. They were disappointed with the film, were not at all impressed with the guy who appeared on stage and certainly did not want to sit there having their ears blasted out any longer. My other two friends, as well as finding the volume much too loud, found the flashing lights caused considerable discomfort, I cannot understand what purpose they served. The show had been describes as "a sing-a-long show based on the John Travolta film". I think 'misdescription' applies here. Not having any prior knowledge, we came expecting to see a stage show with a screen up somewhere just showing the words of the songs. The second half of the film was a bit more entertaining than the first half but although the dance performances were good and the quality of singing excellent, there is no way in the world that any of us would have paid £15 for a ticket to watch a film |
