| This first night was a brilliant performance by the company in a sympathetic fusion of acting and music in one act. The surreal story seems to be one of a lonely woman’s comfortable daydreams of companionship that are at odds with her uncomfortable relationships in real life. The acting was convincing and moving, at times funny and full of hidden meaning, and the music, which was in complete sympathy with the story, provided the cues for us to suspend reality, and added much to the experience. This was a most enjoyable performance with a disappointing ending because the dream was shattered. We enjoyed our evening out despite a disappointingly empty theatre. |
