Access
Here at The Brewhouse we’re committed to making all forms of art as accessible as possible, and we want your visit to be an enjoyable one. We therefore offer a wide range of facilities and performances to ensure that your experience is a comfortable and pleasurable one.
Wheelchairs
All entrances to The Brewhouse and its venues are wheelchair accessible.
Three wheelchair positions (3’4” x 3’4”) are available in the Main House. An accompanying registered carer goes free.
The Brewhouse Studio is easily accessible for wheelchair users. If you are a wheelchair user, please mention this when booking your tickets for performances in the Studio.
The Café Bar and restaurant area is accessible to all. If you are a wheelchair user please mention when booking your table in the restaurant and a suitable table will be selected for you.
Toilets
Disabled toilet facilities are available in both the Box Office and up the ramp in the Café Bar.
Sign Language Interpreted Performances
During these performances a British Sign Language Interpreter will be positioned on the stage and specific seats with a clear view of the signer will be reserved and should be requested when booking.
Audio Described Performances
The audio described performances provide the audience with a description of the set, the characters, the costume, the scene and the lighting throughout the performance, interspersing with the actors dialogue. The information is relayed through a headset that will be given to you on arrival at The Brewhouse. The headsets should be booked when booking your tickets (at no extra cost) and collected from the Box Office before the performance.
A number of our audio described performances are also available with a Touch Tour, which takes place before the performance. Visually impaired customers have the opportunity to explore the set and and feel the costumes, as well as chat to members of the cast about their characters. These tours are booked through the Box Office and are free of charge although there are limited spaces so please request the tour when booking your seats and audio headset.
Hearing and Guide Dogs
Support dogs are welcome throughout The Brewhouse. Please mention this when booking and we can allocate suitable seats and arrange for a bowl of water for your dog before or after the performance, or in the interval. Alternatively, if you contact us in advance we can look after your dog during the performance.
Brochures
If you wish to receive a copy of our season brochure, including audio described performances, these are available in special Large Print or Audio Tape formats. To receive a copy of our brochure in one of these special formats at the beginning of each season please contact the Box Office.
